Custom Diabetic Insoles in India
Custom diabetic insoles in India are soft, accommodative insoles made to your foot that cushion and spread pressure away from high-risk areas to prevent ulcers on an at-risk but intact foot. At EDFC, these are designed from your pressure pattern so the foot is protected before skin ever breaks down.
What are custom diabetic insoles?
Unlike a generic shoe insert, a custom diabetic insole is shaped to your foot and made from cushioning materials that absorb shock and redistribute pressure. For a foot with neuropathy, this protects the bony points that would otherwise build a callus and then an ulcer. They are accommodative designed to gently relieve and cushion, not forcefully correct.
Prevention is the goal: most pressure ulcers start at a predictable spot, and a well-made insole takes the load off it. Insoles are usually designed after a gait analysis or pressure assessment. At EDFC India's first chain dedicated to foot care they are fitted by Dr. Ashutosh Shah's team in Surat (Gujarat) and Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh).
Who needs custom insoles?
- Reduced sensation (neuropathy) but no current ulcer
- A previous ulcer that has healed and must be prevented from recurring
- Recurring calluses over pressure points
- Mild foot shape changes that concentrate pressure
- Anyone at risk who wants to protect their feet proactively
When to see a doctor in India: if you have neuropathy or a healed ulcer, custom insoles are one of the most effective ways to prevent a first or repeat wound.
What the process involves
- Assessment — your pressure points and foot shape are identified.
- Impression or scan — the foot's shape is captured for a custom fit.
- Insole design — cushioning and relief are built in over high-risk zones.
- Fitting — the insole is checked in your footwear for comfort and fit.
- Review — follow-up to confirm it is protecting the right areas.
