Case Studies
Patient Success Stories
Real cases from the clinic, told in full. Written case studies, video walkthroughs and teaching presentations, including feet saved after amputation had been advised elsewhere.
A midfoot that had collapsed and ulcerated, treated with staged offloading and reconstruction rather than amputation.
No case studies in that format yet.
Questions about these cases
Yes. Every case study on this page comes from a patient treated at Elegance Diabetic Foot & Ulcer Clinic, and each one is published only with that patient's written consent. Identifying details are removed or generalised unless the patient has agreed to be named.
Often, yes. Many patients reach us after amputation has been advised elsewhere, and a proportion of those limbs are saved once circulation is restored, infection is controlled and pressure is removed from the wound. Outcome depends on blood supply, infection extent and how quickly treatment starts, so no case guarantees another.
You will not know from a photograph alone, and neither will we. The variables that decide outcome are blood supply, depth of infection, bone involvement and sugar control, none of which are visible in a picture. Send a photo on WhatsApp for an initial view, then an in person assessment settles it.
Only if you give written consent, and you can decline without it affecting your treatment in any way. Consent is asked separately from treatment consent, it can be withdrawn later, and cases can be published with the face and identifying marks excluded.
Most limb salvage cases run across weeks to months rather than days. A straightforward ulcer may close in six to twelve weeks, while a case needing revascularisation, staged debridement and reconstruction takes considerably longer. Each case study states its own timeline.
A second opinion is charged as a standard consultation, with any scans or tests quoted separately before they are done. Where amputation has been advised elsewhere, we prioritise the appointment, because the value of a second opinion falls sharply once tissue is lost.
Yes. Patients travel to Surat from across Gujarat and beyond, and many are first assessed by WhatsApp photo before deciding to travel. Where the case suits it, initial treatment happens here and follow up continues with your local doctor, coordinated by our team.
