What are custom orthotics?

Where a cushioning insole accommodates and protects, a custom functional orthotic actively supports and controls how the foot moves. It is molded to your foot to correct alignment, stabilise a flexible deformity, and redistribute load. For more significant problems, a brace such as an ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) supports the ankle and lower leg useful for foot drop, instability, or a healing Charcot foot.
